The history of the club

The history of the club

Team Esbjerg is a young club that was formed through a collaboration between the two former Esbjerg clubs, KVIK and EHK, in 1991. Many years of healthy and exciting competition between the two teams transformed into a joint effort to raise the level of handball in Esbjerg and provide the city with a strong contender at a high national level. Initially, it started practically as a Women's Senior team and a Men's Senior team, with players from the two "parent clubs" forming a player community rather than a club community. However, it worked so well that in 1993, the decision was made to establish the club community, Team Esbjerg.

Team Esbjerg is built on community and pride in representing the city and the region at the top of Danish women's handball.
