The Main Library - Hovedbiblioteket

At the main library in Esbjerg there is lively activity and people coming and going all day long. It constitutes a modern frame for literature, science, culture and democracy.

What you can experience

At the main library (Hovedbiblioteket) four areas have been provided, each of which focusses on education, citizenship, family or culture.

There is, therefore, room for everybody, whether you come for quiet contemplation, to learn more along with other people, to participate in an activity, or to have a new experience.

At the main library, focus is on storytelling, and, among other things, the library has been furnished with a large story staircase (Fortælletrappe) and a story tree (Fortælletræ) which frame the stories in an imaginative way.
